RADIOMOOSE

Remember those old monster movies like the original King Kong, or Harryhausen movies like Jason and the Argonauts? They would combine stop-motion animated puppets with live-action footage. It does not look convincing by todays standards, but there is a certain charm to it that I wanted to attempt. That's where the idea for RADIOMOOSE came from.

I built the moose from aluminum wire, scavenged mattress foam, polymorph and athletic bandage tape. I sculpted the head in Blender and 3d printed it. UV paint made it glow under blacklight. Each frame was captured with 2 lighting passes, one with just the UV light, and one with the normal scene lighting. Then they were combined in post.
